Acer launches New Dual Android, Windows XP Netbook
The integration of Android in the Acer Aspire One is D255 the light tasks like browsing the Internet or media consumption, without possibility to use the Android Market.
The primary function of the netbook is browsing the Internet and some have understood. Since the arrival of these devices, some manufacturers offer machines inhabited by two OS: a heavy for everyday use and a light (often a Linux distribution) for its flexibility.
The Acer Aspire One incorporates D255 and Android and Windows XP. The successor of the D250 has a very classic setup for a netbook: 10.1-inch screen, Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160 GB of storage and a battery three cells (six options).
As with the D250, which was a disappointment, the use of Android (version unknown) will still be limited by the absence of the Android Market and its 200 000 applications. The OS is not here only for its quick start and Internet browsing.
Competition has also used the dual boot. Asus PC’s team of two start buttons, one for a Linux distribution house, the other for Windows.
The D255 is on sale at $ 375 in Taipei Computer Applications Show and will be available later in Taiwan to 362 dollars (275 euros). No release date has French yet been revealed.
